Winter EPTO Workshop
The Winter EPTO Workshop is scheduled for January 6-7, 2021 from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm. A maximum of 60 full-time faculty will be invited to participate in the workshop. Completing the course will meet part of the CCRI eligibility requirements for teaching online.
Register for the EPTO Workshop 2021
The Winter EPTO Workshop will be a two-day blended training for CCRI instructors who have not yet gained EPTO certification. This is a quick, condensed event that will help prepare instructors for teaching online for the spring semester. Instructors who complete the workshop will be eligible to teach 600-level online courses at CCRI.
The workshop will be facilitated through Blackboard. Each day will have pre-readings for participants to prepare for active Collaborate sessions. The Blackboard course will provide instructions, templates, detailed outlines, PowerPoints and additional resources.
Participants Will:
- Deploy a student engagement plan for interactive student-led small group work throughout their course
- Deploy a discussion plan which facilitates interactive whole group asynchronous conversations
- Submit an online syllabus which stresses flexible, accessible and asynchronous student engagement
Assessments
Participants will attend interactive Collaborate sessions throughout the two days. Participants, at the conclusion of the two-day training, will submit an online syllabus, an asynchronous group work and discussion plan.
Participants can take up to four weeks to submit their assessments for certification.

Completion and Recognition
At the end of the workshop, faculty who complete the workshop in good standing will receive a Certificate in Effective Practices in Teaching Online. The workshop is a total of 36 hr. of work, which can be used for promotion.
Registration
Full-time faculty are eligible. Registration is by invitation only. The workshop is limited to 60 participants.
