Dental Hygiene Clinic Fees

FOR A SAFE DENTAL APPOINTMENT

  1. All patients seeking examination and treatment in the dental hygiene and radiography clinics are required to provide a medical/dental history.
  2. A patient whose history or examination indicates the presence of an infectious disease carrier state or active infectious disease is eligible for examination and treatment in the dental hygiene and radiography clinics, provided the following conditions are met:
    1. the patient is otherwise eligible for service
    2. the services are provided in accordance with the Dental Health Programs policy on coordination of dental hygiene care with medical and dental care
    3. in the professional judgment of the dentist supervising the Dental Hygiene Clinic, the service(s) to be performed will not be harmful to the patient.
  3. Patients who disclose the presence of bloodborne infectious disease states will be shown the same consideration as non-infected individuals. A safe environment for students, patients, faculty and staff is assured through the use of standard precautions and strict adherence to CDC guidelines regarding infection control. Information pertaining to the health status of each individual is maintained in strict confidence. Details regarding the individual's condition will not be disseminated without the express written consent of the individual.
  4. All patients, faculty, staff and students will be considered as potentially infectious. Standard precautions are used in all instances of patient care.

APPOINTMENT POLICY

  1. All persons given appointments will be screened for potential physician consultation and made aware of the approximate time required to complete treatments, as well as the fee for the treatments provided.
  2. Patients who are ill will have treatment postponed.
  3. The appointment length is two hours.
  4. Recall patients will be seen no sooner than twelve months (to the month) from completion. Continuing care patients may be appointed in the month designated for their return.
  5. Children are to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and are not to be left unattended in the reception area. Parent/guardian must remain in the reception area throughout treatment. Infants are not allowed into the clinic.
  6. The minimum age for clinic patients is 5 years old.

BROKEN APPOINTMENTS

The following are considered to be broken appointments:

  • Failure to cancel a minimum of 24 hours before your scheduled appointment
  • Failure to appear for a scheduled appointment

If you have a broken appointment all future appointments will be removed from the schedule and future appointments will be on a space available basis.
