Knights Wallop Wyverns of Quinsigamond 94-53!

Warwick, R.I. – November 22, 2021: the CCRI Knights Men’s Basketball team hosted the Wyverns of Quinsigamond Community College from Worcester, MA to the Cullen Fieldhouse on Saturday for a Region XXI league game. The Knights made quick work of the Wyverns 94-53. With the victory CCRI improves to 5-1 on the season and 3-0 in Region XXI play.

The Knights were riding a four-game win streak and look to continue their winning ways versus the Wyverns. After just a few moments of this game it was clear to see Knights were the far superior squad. Freshman center Levi King (Westerly, RI) was a man on a mission Saturday and set an early tone with his offensive aggressiveness as he scored 10 first half points. Sophomore co-captain forward Mitchel Noresca (East Providence, RI) had a great half with 12 first half points to help the cause. Sophomore co-captain Luke Fusaro (Charlestown, RI) also had an excellent half with 10 points including two 3-pointers. The Knights took a comfortable 49-30 lead.

In the second half the Knights starters quickly extended their lead to 30 points and never looked back. Many Knights reserves got into the mix for the first time led by Bernard Omana (Providence, RI) came into the game ready to play as he scored eight points in the second half. In total 12 players made it to the scoring column for the Knights as they cruised to the 94-53 victory.

Leading the way for the Knights was Levi King (Westerly, RI) with a game-high 18 points including two 3-pointers with six rebounds and four assists. Sophomore sharpshooting co-captain Luke Fusaro scored a career-high 15 points, including three 3-pointers with two assists and two steals. Sophomore co-captain Mitchel Noresca added 16 points with seven rebounds, two steals and an assist. Coming off the bench to help CCRI was Bernard Omana scored eight points, three steals and two rebounds, Theo Jadotte (Providence, RI) had eight points and 10 rebounds while Michael Harris (Cranston, RI) added seven points, including a 3-pointer with two assist and two rebounds.

The next game for the Knights will be Tuesday November 30th when they will host the Granite of Quincy College at 8:00pm as part of e doubleheader with the Lady Knights who will play Quinsigamond CC at 6:00pm.
