Warwick, R.I. – December 10, 2021: The No. 8 ranked (NJCAA DIII Men’s Basketball Poll) CCRI Knights men’s basketball team hosted the Pointers of UConn-Avery Point Thursday evening for a Region XXI league game. The Knights defeated the Pointers 95-48. With the victory CCRI improves to 8-1 overall and 6-0 in Region XXI play.

The Knights came into the game riding an seven game win streak and were facing the Pointers who had yet to win a game. The Knights have a distinct height advantage and they quickly utilized that advantage to take control of the game.

The Knights took control of the game from the opening tip by pounding the ball inside to their frontcourt players. Sophomore co-captain Mitchel Noresca (East Providence, RI) led the charge as he poured in 16 of his game-high 30 points in the first half. Noresca was assisted by center Levi King (Westerly, RI) and Theo Jadotte (Providence, RI) who added six points apiece. Freshman guard Michael Harris (Cranston, RI) got his first career start and also added six points to the 42-24 lead the Knights would take into the halftime break.

In the second half the Knights widened their lead to 30 points about ten minutes in and were able to get valuable playing time for their reserves as hey coasted to the 95-48 victory.

Leading the way for the Knights was sophomore co-captain Mitchel Noresca who had a monster Double-Double tying his season-high with 30 points while ripping down a season-high 21 rebounds. Freshman forward Theo Jadotte had 15 points with eight rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot. Freshman center Levi King added a Double-Double 14 points and 12 rebounds with three assists. Freshman guard Michael Harris got his first start and contributed nine points on three 3-pointers with four assists

The next game for the Knights will be Tuesday the 14th when they will host the Naval Academy Prep School at 6pm for their last game of the semester.
