Warwick, R.I. – September 16, 2019: The CCRI men’s and women’s Cross Country runners traveled to New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, NH over the weekend to compete in the Lynx Invitational. CCRI had five runners compete, three Knights and two Lady Knights but did not have enough to compete as a team but put forth some very good times for their first meet of the season.

Leading the way for the Lady Knights was freshman Madeline Holden (North Kingstown, RI) who was the first CCRI runner to finish the race in seventh place win a fine time of 28 minutes 50 seconds. Finishing in twelfth place was freshman Ashley Lawrence (Barrington, RI) in 35:13. Both Lady Knights ran well in their first meets for CCRI and will look to continue improvement as the season progresses.

For the Knights Dylan Ouillette (Warwick, RI) was the first Knight to finish the race in 33:26 which was good for 14th place. Gavan Kearney (Coventry, RI) was the next to finish for CCRI with a time of 37:19 which placed him 26th overall. The final Knights to cross the finish line was Brandon Bun (Pawtucket, RI) who placed 32nd in a time of 41:43.

The next meet for CCRI will be the Brown Track Club/CCRI Time Trial 5K Sunday the 15th on the CCRI Cross Country Course on the Flanagan Campus in Lincoln, RI at 11am.
