Three Season-best times for CCRI at Brown Invite!

Warwick, R.I. – September 30, 2019: The CCRI Cross Country teams traveled to Stanley Park in Westfield, MA Sunday morning to compete at the Brown Bear Invitational hosted by The Brown University Running Club.
Three of the four CCRI runners put forth season best times on the course at Stanley Park. For the Lady Knights women Ashley Lawrence (Barrington, RI) ran a season-best for the six kilometer distance placing 58th in a time of 31 minutes 34.4 seconds. Maddie Holden (North Kingstown, RI) placed just behind Lawrence in 59th in a time of 31:35.6.
For the Knights both men who raced in the eight kilometer event ran season-best times. Gavin Kearney (Coventry, RI) placed 127th in a season-best time of 36:25.3 and Brandon Bun (Pawtucket, RI) placed 134th in a season best time of 37:54.6.
Head Coach Gregg Cornell commented after the meet: “Nice efforts by the four athletes in their second race of the season. They look forward to racing at home this coming weekend at the Tri-State Invitational.”
The next meet for CCRI will be Saturday the 5th when they host the Tri-State Invitational beginning at 10am on the CCRI Flanagan Campus in Lincoln, RI.
