CCRI defeats Massasoit 3-0: 26-24, 25-23 & 25-22

The Lady Knights were out to avenge their only Region XXI losses on the season that were to the Warriors in a hard fought 3-2 match in their first meeting and close 3-0 match in their second meeting. Once again this would be a very close match with every point and rally being very important. The Lady Knights knew if they played their game and focused upon their play they would emerge victorious. CCRI played their game and were able to win the crucial points when they needed them. Neither team got too far ahead in any match so it was critical that the Lady Knights galvanize as a cohesive unit and gut out this important interdivisional road victory by the narrowest of margins.

Leading the way for the Lady Knights was Sydney Trudeau (Cumberland, RI) who had five Kills, and four Aces from the service line for a total of nine team points while also adding four Digs. Also having a very good match was Alexis Baffoni (Coventry, RI) who led CCRI with eight Kills with three Digs. Gabriella Blumenstock (Warwick, RI) also had a good match with four Kills, an Ace and a team-leading seven Digs. Marilyn McKay (Warwick, RI) contributed with three Kills, an Ace and a Solo Block. Another key contributor was Joanna Wong (Cranston, RI) who directed the offense well with 20 Assists while adding three Digs. Mia Shola (North Kingstown, RI) added three Aces, a Kill and three Digs for the Lady Knights.

The next match for the Lady Knights will be Thursday October 3rd when they will host the Bulldogs of Bunker Hills Community College to the Flanagan Fieldhouse for a Region XXI interleague match at 6pm.
