Warwick, R.I. – September 24, 2018: The CCRI Lady Knights soccer team hosted the Mustangs of Central Maine Community College from Auburn, ME for their Home Opener on Friday afternoon at the CCRI Soccer Complex in Lincoln. The Lady Knight defeated the Mustangs 1-0. With the victory the Lady Knights improve to 2-1 on the season.

The Lady Knights dominated the match offensively outshooting the Mustangs of Central Maine 25 to four. Though they had many chances CCRI only converted one of those opportunities into a goal. Freshman forward Sam Muller (North Stonington, CT) scored the match's only goal late in the 1st half, with only eight minutes left to go in the half, assisted by Kat Raposo (Warwick, RI). Muller and Raposo created havoc all day for the Lady Knights on offense combining for 11 of CCRI's 25 shots with five of them on net.

Freshman Keeper Maddie Brassard (Pawtucket, RI) recorded her 2nd shutout of the season in just three matches. Brassard only made one saved on four shots to record her second clean sheet of the season.

The next game for the Lady Knights will be This Saturday when CCRI travels to Portland, ME to play the Seawolves of Southern Maine Community College at 1:00pm
