Warwick, R.I. – April 17, 2017: The CCRI track teams traveled to Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, MA to compete in the Eric Loeschner Invite on Saturday. The Knights finished 11th of 25 teams with 14 points and the Lady Knights finished 13th of 18 teams with 13 points.
Lincoln Robinson (Stonington, CT) led the Knights with a 1st place finish in a season best time of 56.43 seconds in the 400m hurdles. This was one of the best races run by a Knight so far during the outdoor season. Also scoring for the Knights was Justin Lucier (West Warwick, RI) placing 6th in the 400m run with a season best time of 51.75 seconds. Another highlight for the men was Cristian Figueroa (Providence, RI) running the NJCAA III qualifying time of 2 minutes 3.12 placing him 14th in the 800m event.
Two Lady Knights competed at the Loeschner Invite. Victoria Anderson (Manville, RI) ran a season-best in the 100m hurdles, placing 4th in a time of 17.43. Anderson also ran a season-best time in the 400m hurdles in 1:14.91 seconds to place her 6th. Allison Lenox (North Kingstown, RI) placed4th in the 400m run with a good time of 1:03.92.
Lincoln Robinson ran a great race with a time that puts him on top of the NJCAA rankings in the 400m hurdles. Other athletes from CCRI competed at the meet and full results are posted of the CCRI athletic web page.
