Warwick, R.I. – October 8, 2015: In a Region XXI showdown, the CCRI Knights Men’s Soccer team traveled to Brockton, Mass to face off against the Warriors of Massasoit Community College. The Knights failed to come back home with a win and took the loss to Massasoit by the score of 6-1. The loss now puts CCRI at 2-9 on the year and 0-6 in Region XXI play.

CCRI held strong for the first 20 minutes as they played an even game until Massasoit finally broke through. Massasoit would score twice in the first half to take a 2-0 halftime lead over the Knights. The second half didn’t bring much change to the game as the Knights would be outscored 4-1 to bring the final score of 6-1. Cyrus Wiefue (Providence, RI) scored the lone Knights goal in the game with about ten minutes left. Josh Sandin (Warwick, RI) was able to get the ball into the box where he found Wiefue for the goal.

Head Coach Gabe Toro had this to say about the game, “Our offense was just not able to get in the flow of things. We couldn’t maintain possession of the ball and it lead to a dead offense.”

The Knights next game will be this Saturday at 2:00pm they travel to Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York.
