Warwick, R.I. – June 9, 2016: the CCRI Knights golf team continued play in the 2016 NJCAA Division III Golf National championship at Chautauqua golf Course in Chautauqua, NY on Wednesday. On the second day of the Championship the Knights shot a team score of 348 to give them a two-day total of 685 placing them in 11th place. The overall team leader is Vincennes University shooting a 302 for a two-day total of 605.
Leading the way for the Knights was Captain Josh Macera (Cranston, RI) who shot an 84 to give him a two-day total of 162 placing him tied for 38th individually. Also shooting an 84 on the second day was Dan Hayes (Pictured left) (Pawtucket, RI) giving him a two-day total of 171 placing him tied for 69th individually. Matt O’Brien (Portsmouth, RI) shot an 87 to give him a two-day total of 181 placing him tied for 81st. Eric Carlos (Newport, RI) shot a 93 to give him a two day total of 177 placing him 79th individually. Rounding out the Knights competitors at the Championship was Sam Caron (Cumberland, RI) who shot a 98 to give him a two-day total of 186 to place him 84th overall. The individual leader of the championship is Dante Migliore of Mohawk Valley CC who shot a 73 both days for sat w-day total of 146.
The Knights teed-off this morning from the first tee at the following times: Josh Macera at 9:40, Dan Hayes at 9:48, Eric Carlos at 9:56, Matt O’Brien at 10:04 and Sam Caron at 10:12.
