Warwick, R.I. – April 18, 2016: The CCRI Knights played their sixth game in five days on Sunday as they traveled to Franklin, MA to play Region XXI rival Dean College. The Knights once again played a tight game but this time was on the losing end of a one run game, dropping the game 7-6. The loss puts the Knights record at 9-7 with a 3-2 Region XXI record.

The Knights got on the board first in the game as Austin Davis (Hollywood, FL) doubled and then was brought in to score on a single by Mike Santos (Cranston, RI). Dean answered back by scoring two in the third and then CCRI answered back with one in the fourth to tie it at two. Dean then scored two in the bottom of the fourth to take a 4-2 lead.

In the fifth, the Knights had a big two run rally to take a 5-4 lead. Edison Mercado (Providence, RI) homered to left to cut the lead to one. Dylan Brooks (Lookeba, OK) followed that right up with a home run of his own to tie the game up at four. Enzo Clemente then singled, followed by a walk by Davis, which was then followed by a single from shortstop Robert Paulino (Mirimar, FL) that drove in Clemente to give the Knights a 5-4 lead.

Dean tied the game up in the sixth and CCRI once again retook the lead with a run in the top of the eighth which looked like it would be the game winner. Dean then strung together their own rally in the bottom of the ninth. They scored on a single which was followed by a walk to load the bases with no outs and a tied game. Dean was able to get the job done as they hit a walk off sac fly to beat the Knights 7-6.
