Warwick, R.I. – February 16, 2015: The CCRI Knights men's track team traveled to Boston University in Boston, MA on Saturday to compete in the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational to finish out the winter season.
Lee Mandanici (Medina OH) ran two season best times at this weekend Boston University Valentines Invitational. Most of the running events had 200 or more student- athletes competing. Mandanici held his own with a season best time in the 200m with a fine time of 23.22 seconds good for a 131st place finish. He came back in the 400m placing 157th with another season-best time of 52.42 seconds.
Other Knights competing included runners: Britton Laney (Pascoag, RI) who ran his best time of the season in the 800meter run with a two minute 11.30 second performance which placed him 193rd. Ian Anderson (Warwick, RI) placed 200th in the 800m with a season-best time of 2:19.52. Connor Williamson (West Warwick, RI) placed 68th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.49 seconds. Javier Vasquez (Providence, RI) placed 60th in the Long Jump with a 5.39m effort. Ranier Martinez (North Providence, RI) ran a season-best time in the 200m placing 197th with a time of 25.57 seconds. Thrower Shamar Spruill (Providence, RI) placed 49th in the Weight Throw with a toss of 12.28m.
CCRI Head Indoor Track Coach Gregg Cornell commented after the Meet: "The men ended this season on a good note and look forward to preparing for the spring season over the next few weeks. Their next meet begins the spring season at Bridgewater State University on March 21st.
The spring season begins for the K nights on Saturday March 21st when they will travel to Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, MA to compete in the Bridgewater State Invite beginning at 10:00am.
