10 Student-Athletes and Doug Haynes honored Monday!

Warwick, R.I. – April 15, 2015: On Monday afternoon Rhode Island Speaker of the House of Representatives Nicholas Mattiello honored 10 student-athletes and one Alumna from each Rhode Island State College for the Scholar-Athlete Awards in the House Chamber of the Rhode Island State House.

There were 10 student-athletes honored by the Community College of Rhode Island. They student-athletes were chosen for their academic success and performance within their respective sports. The athletes included: Taylor Butler (North Kingstown, RI), Thomas (TJ) Boyajian (Warwick, RI), Lauren Cattani (Cranston, RI), Adam Coutu (Moosup CT), Austin Gagan (Coventry, RI) Joseph Gareri (Uxbridge, MA), Steven Letterle (Cranston, RI), Jesse Ossian (Rumford, RI via Chandler, AZ), Delyn Pizzaro (Providence, RI via Homestead, FL), and Lashana Tolliver (Warwick, RI via Albany, NY).

The Distinguished Alumnus honored by CCRI was former CCRI Baseball and Basketball standout and Current St. Mary’s Academy at Bay View Bengals Basketball Head Coach Doug Haynes (Providence, RI).
