The CCRI Knights coed golf team is hosting the NJCAA Division III Region XXI Golf Tournament at Cranston Country Club in Cranston, RI. After the first day of the two day competition CCRI is in third place with an aggregate score of 348. Leading the tournament is Springfield Technical Community College with a 337, second is Mass Bay Community College with 343, third is CCRI 348, fourth place Dean College with 350 and Holyoke Community College only had three players (not a complete team of four).
Leading the way for the CCRI Knights was Steven Letterle (Cranston, RI) with a team-low score of 79 which was the second lowest score of the day. Letterle was followed by Rob Gallucci (Coventry, RI) with an 85, Chris Lussier (Cranston, RI) 91, and Co-Captain Gina Bartolotta (Wakefield, RI) had a 93. Co-Captain Zach Sullivan’s (Cumberland, RI) 104 was not used for the aggregate score of 348. The individual low score of the day was shot by Joseph Park from Mass Bay Community College with a 78.
Golfers will begin teeing-off at 9:00am Wednesday morning for the second and final round of the two-day Region XXI Tournament.
The Community College of Rhode Island, New England’s largest comprehensive community college, enrolls nearly 18,000 students in credit courses and thousands more in non-credit and job training classes.
