Lady Knights Volleyball sweeps Northern Essex CC!
The CCRI Lady Knights volleyball team traveled to Haverhill, MA to play the Lady Knights of Northern Essex Community College on Wednesday. CCRI defeated Northern Essex 25-17, 25-12 and 25-9 in a best three-of-five match. With the victory the Lady Knights improve to 11-3 overall and 2-0 in Region XXI play.
Leading the way for the Lady Knights was Co-Captain Paula Cadavid (Lincoln, RI) who finished the day with 12 kills, with a hitting efficiency of 50%, six aces and 12 digs. Head Coach Samantha Amaral commented “She (Paula) is a great captain on the court and a finisher I need in games like today.” Cadavid was helped by Janny Cabrera (Providence, RI) with nine kills, with a hitting efficiency of 44% and a block, Meagan Del Re (Coral Springs, FL) with also had nine kills, with a 43% hitting efficiency and a block, and Jenna Ayala (Paterson, NJ) with three kills and four aces.
Coach Amaral added after the match “It was very nice to get a victory under our belt. The girls played well and were able to just get better each game.”
The next game for the Lady Knights will be this Saturday when they travel to New Rochelle, NY to play the No. 19 ranked (NJCAA DII poll) Mustangs of Monroe College at 3:00pm.
