GinaGina Bartolotta

The CCRI Knights golf team is in New York for the NJCAA Division III Golf National Tournament at Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, N Y.  The Nationals begin today with a practice round and four rounds of paly beginning June 4th through June 7th.  All tournament and practice rounds will be played on the Lake Course of the Chautauqua Golf Club. This Donald Ross designed course overlooks beautiful Chautauqua Lake in Chautauqua County. Golf Digest designated Chautauqua County the #1 golf destinations in 2003. The yardage will play 6,549 yards to a rating of 70.2 and Par 72.

The five CCRI Golfers competing at the Nationals are: Gina Bartolotta (Wakefield, RI), Nick DeSalvo (Burrillville, RI), Anthony Lovechio (Wakefield, RI), Zach Sullivan (Cumberland, RI), and Pat O’Connor (North Kingstown, RI). On Monday the CCRI practice round tee times will begin at 9:48am with three Knights’ golfers teeing off then and continue at 9:56am with two more golfers teeing off at that time on the 10th hole.

On Tuesday when the Tournament begins all of the Knights golfers will also tee off at the 10th hole at the following times: Gina Bartolotta at 9:00am, Nick DeSalvo at 9:08am, Anthony Lovechio at 9:16am, Zach Sullivan at 9:24am and Pat O’Connor at 9:32am.

This is the deepest and most talented squad that CCRI has sent to the Division III Golf Championships and Head Coach Brian Deighan believes “We have a legitimate shot of placing in the top 10 this year. That would be our best finish in program history.”
The Community College of Rhode Island, New England’s largest comprehensive community college, enrolls nearly 18,000 students in credit courses and thousands more in non-credit and job training classes. Its athletic program boasts 12 varsity programs and an academic support program for all student-athletes.
