CCRI- 5 Monroe College- 7
On the mound for the Lady Knights Katie Paddock (Providence, RI) got the start and pitched well but a late game rally by the Mustangs spoiled her outing. Paddock threw seven innings allowing seven runs, five earned, on 14 hits with one walks while striking out seven Mustangs. Paddock pitched much better than the stats show as she cruised through the first five innings with a 3-0 shutout going but Monroe got a couple hits and took advantage of a couple fielding mistakes by CCRI in the sixth inning to score five runs to take a 5-3 lead in t eh sixth. The Mustangs added two more runs in the seventh to take a 7-3 lead. The Lady Knights fought back with two but it was not enough as Monroe pulled-off the comeback victory 7-5.
Leading the offense for the Lady Knights was Kate Fowler (Warwick, RI) with two hits, including a double with three RBIs and a run scored and Co-Captain Mel Iadeluca (Warwick, RI) also added two hits, including a double with one RBI and a run scored. Also helping CCRI offensively was Co-Captain Izzy MarcAurele (Cranston, RI) with a hit and runs scored and Alex Place (East Greenwich, RI), Amber Boucher (Warwick, RI), and Brittany Smith (North Providence, RI) each added two hits and a runs scored apiece.

On the mound for the Lady Knights Macayla Paiva (West Greenwich, RI) got the start and faced a very similar fate as Paddock did earlier. Paiva cruised through her first five innings giving-up just a single run on four hits. But in the sixth once again the flood gates opened for Monroe as the scored six times capped by a grand slam from clean-up batter Amanda Casillas, her only hit of the day. Making matters worse for CCRI the sixth inning was the last inning due to darkness and they were unable to score on the bottom of the sixth losing by the final score of 7-3.
Offensively for the Lady Knights co-Captain Liz Coburn (Chepachet, RI) had two hits with a runs scored, followed by Katie Paddock with an RBI double. They were helped by Alex Place and Kate Fowler who each had a hit and an RBI apiece. Rounding out eh CCRI offence was Izzy MarcAurele and Amber Boucher each with a hit.
