Bridges to Technology

Department of Engineering and Technology Remedial/Developmental Program

C.C.R.I. has been selected by the "Institute for Women in Trades, Technology and Science" (I.W.I.T.S.) as one of four sites nationally to participate in a program for the recruitment of women in technology. This program is being funded by a National Science Foundation grant. The C.C.R.I. subcommittee on Retention has suggested a program that would "bridge" the gap from General Studies to Technology for Women.

Dick Cardin, Chairperson, Engineering and Technology Department and Tom Whitfield, Chemistry Chairperson have worked with Linda Benvenuti, Associate Director, Information Technology Center, to develop this program.

The goal of the program is to prepare students for a career in technology and peak their interest in a career in technology.
