Satellite Campuses

Westerly Middle School

CCRI’s satellite campus at Westerly Middle School is expanding its offerings this fall, allowing even more students in southern Rhode Island and eastern Connecticut to take advantage of credit courses closer to home. [View Fall Schedule]

Twenty-four courses will be offered, and the college will hold classes on a fourth night, Thursday, to give students more options.

The two nearest campuses to the middle school are the Knight Campus in Warwick at 38 miles and Newport County Campus in Newport at about 35 miles away, so the savings in gasoline could be significant for someone who otherwise would travel to one of these campuses one or two nights each week.

Many of the classes offered in Westerly are core classes or general education classes that can help students get started in their studies close to home before they finish their degree-specific classes offered at the college’s four campuses in Warwick, Newport, Providence and Lincoln.

Those studying at other colleges and universities also might consider fulfilling some of their general requirements at the Westerly satellite at a lower cost, then transferring the credits to their own institutions.
