Welcome to the Women in Technology Program
To all women in technology programs:
Welcome to the Spring semester at CCRI. As you either begin or continue your studies, we welcome you to visit the Success Center this term. In addition to the current programs at the center, CCRI recently was awarded a grant from the Emma Harris Foundation that provides funding for a Women in Technology program. While the primary focus of the grant is to support women in the technology arena, the program is available to all students. The program will provide mentoring and tutoring resources, including discussion about possible career paths and positioning.
The Women and Technology program is located in the Success Center in the library area of the Knight campus in Warwick, RI. The Success Center is accessed either via the staircase at the rear of the library (Learning Resource Center) on the fourth floor, or via the third floor ramp through the Co-Op door. Follow the sign for Peer Tutoring. The office hours and phone number are as follows:
Tuesday 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Wednesday 9:30 am – 1:30 pm
Thursday 9:30 am – 1:30 pm
Phone: (401) 825-1105
The coordinator for the program is Deirdre Lavallee. She holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver. Her experience has been in instrumentation and process controls, and spanned applications and sales engineering as well as product management and marketing in the domestic and international marketplaces. Industries included semiconductor equipment, aerospace, medical device and laboratory equipment.
We look forward to meeting you, and let us know how we can help.
Sincerely,
Michael J. Cunningham
Assistant Dean of the Success Centers
