Smoking will be restricted at both campuses away from the main entrances; namely, Knight Campus 2nd floor ramp area (main entrance) and Flanagan Campus Mod. 2, South and Mod. 1, North (main entrances). There was mention to provide bench seating at the base of ramp at Knight Campus to make the area more attractive to smokers.

Joanne Jacobs presented a complaint from the Dental Health Dept., there is a vent in a clinic p sterilization room which needs to be cleaned. George Sousa will follow-up.

Also, rooms 1638, 1640, 1642 are very hot. Temperature in the clinic needs attention.

Again, George will investigate.

Cleanliness of the restroom floors was mentioned. Grout appears dirty, was determined it was the sealer which causes the discoloration.

Toilets are still leaking at the gaskets and will continue to be fixed when reported.

George Sousa informed the Committee that ceiling tiles are being replaced. Make note of any that may need replacement. Also, Committee should inform their constituency to make a list of any areas which need cleaning, they will be attended to during the semester break.

Manny commented on Indoor Air Quality which notes that wet ceiling tiles must be replaced once wet, as mold collects in these areas.

Steve notified Committee of plans to replace carpeting at the Flanagan Campus in the corridors. Also Gym floor at Flanagan Campus will be replaced.

Manny commented on Radon Testing. Knight Campus to be retested. Providence campus to be tested the following day, November 22, 1996.

Edna asked if cement walls could be painted or sealed to prevent cement dust. Steve said they will be sealed with a clear coat. Was noted that many of the areas are already sealed so Bill Mercer will check before any action taken.

Manny tested for Gases: ozone, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, etc. All negative.

Ed Jacques presented a complaint from his department. Was noted that a collection of old tires near the Flanagan Campus were posing a health hazard due to standing water which collects in the tires. George indicated they have been discarding piecemeal and should be gone.
