New PTK/Honors Course for Fall '09:
THE PARADOX OF AFFLUENCE
LIBA 8030
This 3.5 credit honors colloquium is a discussion-based, research-oriented, multidisciplinary course in which students pursue individual topics of relevance to today's society under the guidance of faculty.
The curriculum, which follows the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Program (details at ptk.org), includes guest speakers and multimedia presentations in addition to lecture and discussion. The study topic for 2008-2010 is The Paradox of Affluence: Choices, Challenges, and Consequences.
