Schedule of Events - Fri., March 23

Inauguration Day

The pomp and circumstance of the inauguration ceremony is being coordinated by Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs Lela Morgan, and Dean of Learning Resources Ruth Sullivan. Beginning at 2:30 p.m., the procession will move from the main campus building into the field house on the Warwick campus. The master of ceremonies is the Honorable Frank Caprio, chairman of the RI Board of Governors for Higher Education. Following the installation, the field house will be transformed into party headquarters for a community reception featuring the best of Rhode Island culinary delights.

More than 3,500 invitations to the inauguration are being sent to community and education leaders, faculty and staff. In addition to our own faculty and staff, colleges and universities are invited to send delegates to march in the academic procession and to participate in other inauguration festivities. A number of the week’s events, including the inauguration ceremony itself, are open to the public.
