POLICY TITLE: CWCE Course Cancellations

POLICY NUMBER: 6.1.2

A. BACKGROUND:

The Center for Workforce and Community Education at the Community College of Rhode Island is the institution’s office responsible for coordinating non-credit programs in customized training, community education, literacy education and personal enrichment courses at all four campus locations as well as several off-campus locations.

B. POLICY STATEMENT:

The Center for Workforce & Community Education (CWCE) will cancel courses that do not meet minimum enrollment standards. Any student affected by a cancellation will be notified and eligible to transfer to another available course or receive a refund in full.

C. DEFINITIONS:

Minimum enrollment standard for most courses varies per course and is determined by the CWCE Program Coordinator and/or Director.

D. PROCEDURES:

  1. Students enrolled in a cancelled course will be notified by CWCE staff prior to the start of the course.
  2. Students will be permitted to transfer to another course, if available.
  3. Students will also be permitted to receive a refund in full.
