Faculty members who would like to "opt out" of the Sick Bank donation for the coming year must complete the form and return it to Human Resources no later than December 31, 2009.  Please download the full memo with attached form here.

Important Payroll-related Reminders

End of Accrual Year /
Discharge of Annual Leave for Classified Employees

The current accrual year for CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES will end on Saturday, December 19th, 2009.

  1. Classified employees may carry over to the next year up to two years' worth of previously accrued vacation. Any vacation accruals over two years' worth is deemed excess; employees must discharge all excess vacation accruals on or before December 19, 2009. As of that date, any unused excess vacation accruals will be forfeited. No extension will be granted to discharge unused excess vacation accruals.
  2. Upfront days will be credited to employees beginning January 1, 2010.
  3. For those retiring. In order to qualify for payment of the "current" vacation leave accrual for calendar year 2009, ending Saturday, December 19, 2009, the retiring employee's effective date of retirement must be on or before Saturday, December 19, 2009.

Discharge of Annual Leave for Non-Classified Employees

The current accrual year for NON-CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES will end on December 31st, 2009.

Pay Reduction Leave for Classified Employees

You may request to discharge the reduction leave during any payroll period on or after June 7, 2009 through June 30, 2012. The exception code for the discharge of this leave on your timesheet and Payroll should be reported as "RT". You may request to discharge this leave in lieu of personal leave, vacation leave or sick leave pursuant to your union contract and/or Personnel Rules. This leave must be discharged as a full day, and may not be discharged in increments. Once you have selected to use the reduction leave, you may not change your mind.

Alternatively, you may elect a cash payment of this leave in the fiscal year beginning July 2010 and until June 15, 2012 (to be paid by June 30, 2012). No request will be honored after June 15, 2012. Any leave not discharged or elected for payment will be lost. Payment for leave will be at the straight time hourly rate in effect at the time of payment.

The form for election of the payment option is available on the Human Resources website http://www.ccri.edu/pers/forms.shtml and in the Human Resources Office. Should you have any questions regarding the pay reduction, please contact the Human Resources Office at ext. 2311.
