Workers' Compensation Insurance
In accordance with state law, the State of Rhode Island provides a comprehensive workers' compensation insurance program. This program covers any injury or illness sustained in the course of employment that requires medical, surgical, or hospital treatment. Subject to applicable legal requirements, workers' compensation insurance provides benefits after a short waiting period.
In the case of accidents that result in injury, regardless of how insignificant the injury may appear, employees should immediately notify the CCRI Security Office and appropriate supervisor. Such reports are necessary to comply with laws and initiate insurance and workers' compensation benefits procedures. These forms can be found on the HR web site.
