Established in 1979, the CCRI Foundation has emerged in recent years to become a vital resource to the Community College of Rhode Island. The mission of the CCRI Foundation is to secure monies for the Community College of Rhode Island through dynamic campaigns and public awareness of the college’s value to the community.
With state support counting for only 50 percent of educational expenses, CCRI depends on the Foundation and Alumni Association to provide additional resources for activities not covered by state funding. Gifts to the Foundation or Alumni Association supports important college-wide initiatives including student scholarships, educational equipment purchases, campus events, facilities beautification, college athletics, library acquisition and many other projects that directly impact students.
