Introduction

Dear Student,

The Community College of Rhode Island currently administers a student employment program funded by the federal government (Federal Work Study – FWS). The purpose of the program is to help students, who have a demonstrated financial need, to contribute financially towards their college education, and to assist the college in performing duties that do not displace full-time employees. Your employment while a student at CCRI provides a vital link between your college education and employment after graduation. Your specific job duties will directly contribute to the operation of CCRI as a whole.

The work experience received through our student employment programs can enhance a student's education by providing an enriching job environment while developing usable job skills and beneficial work habits. All of these skills are transferable to any future full-time position and should be indicated on your résumé.

We sincerely hope that you find your employment at the CCRI to be a valuable experience. Please feel free to email studentemployment@ccri.edu should you have any questions or concerns.
