Financial Aid will begin disbursement of funds for Summer Session I to students’ accounts* |
*Students who are eligible for a Summer Session I refund may see their student account credited as early as June 25th. Please note that this is a notation only and that the actual refunds will be processed according to the below schedule.
E-refunds/(ACH) deposits will begin being deposited to student's bank accounts Wednesday, June 26th.
Paper check refunds will begin being mailed by Thursday, June 28th.
The Financial Aid Office will be determining aid for students based on eligibility and enrollment status for the summer term.This will be determined by the unmet need and remaining amount of unused Pell Grant/Loans from the previous fall 2011 and/or spring 2012 terms.
In order to qualify for summer 2012 financial aid students must meet the following:
a) Have a completed 2011/2012 financial aid file.
b) Be enrolled in a degree or certificate program
c) Be enrolled in at least 6 credits for most financial aid programs (Pell may be an exception based on your EFC. You may be eligible even if registered less than ½ time.)
d) Maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress at the end of the spring term.
Registration for summer courses begins April 2, 2012. The Financial Aid Office recommends that you register for both sessions (Summer I and Summer II) at the same time in order to ensure an accurate financial aid award.

Pell Eligibility
Pell – Students enrolled for both fall and spring and received full Pell (12 credits each term) will be ineligible for summer Pell. Students registered for fewer credits than full-time for either fall, spring or both terms may have some remaining eligibility left for summer 2012. Examples:

Direct Federal Stafford Loans
Direct loans are available based on dependency status and grade level. Students must be enrolled at least half time (6 credits) at the time of disbursement. Students who have already borrowed the maximum loan amounts for the fall and spring terms will not have any remaining loan eligibility for the summer term. Student Employment
The College will have limited funding and limited positions available for Student Employment during summer 2012. Positions will be offered in student centered offices only.
Bookstore Authorizations
Bookstore authorizations can be used from May 21st to May 29th. A CCRI Student ID is required to charge in the bookstore. This period will be the only time to use the bookstore authorization for both Summer Session I and Summer Session II.
