The Contingency Planning task group is charged with researching and examining the feasibility of use for alternate sites in case of unforeseen delays in the opening of the new campus. The group has passed along its complied information to the President’s Council, in whose hands the decision would rest should the need for a contingency plan arise.

The Moving Logistics Committee is responsible for preparing the Newport satellite for the move and to communicate with Facilities Operations regarding the quantity and handling of equipment, furniture and other materials for the move.
Specific tasks include:
Complete inventory of equipment, furniture, and other materials at the satellite
Determine items to move or be deleted
Mark items to be deleted
Determine items that require special handling and mark accordingly
Pack items to be moved and label the location where they are to go
Determine the order of things to move if this becomes critical
Unpack and set up offices and labs

The Facility Operations task group is charged with the planning and implementation of what is needed for the successful operation of the campus. The group will prepare and purchase items necessary for the operation of the campus including:
Bookstore preparation including POS equipment and design
Information technology (purchase and coordinate voice, video and data systems)
Grounds equipment purchase
Recommendation for days/hours of operation (must be approved by president’s council)
Recommendation space utilization (must be approved by president’s council)

The Communications task group is charged with the planning and implementation
of all public relations, marketing and advertising efforts related to the opening
of the Newport Campus. Specific tasks include, for example:
Coordinating internal and external communications regarding the stages of readiness of the campus
Maintaining regular contact with the media to publicize activities related to the Newport County Campus
Planning and execution of special events and promotions
Developing community outreach programming in conjunction with other departments

The Hiring and Staffing task group is charged with the planning and implementation
of filling the positions the Legislature, Board and College have designated
for the Newport Campus in addition to those already working in the Newport Hospital.
Specific tasks include, for example:
Determining the appropriate classifications for each division and department to be located in Newport
Developing and/or revising job descriptions
Developing the recruitment timelines
Ensuring that positions are posted and filled in accordance with established guidelines and timelines
