NEASC Recommendation
In response to our Self-Study and the appraisal and projections put forth by the NEASC Self-Study Sub-Committee on Standard One, the NEASC visiting team recommended the following.
"The team encourages the college to engage in a broad based, campus-wide review designed to put CCRI once again on par with its comprehensive community college peers. Once a new mission is in place, we further encourage and support the college in its intent to establish a 5 year mission review cycle."
"A new mission statement for CCRI should be crisp, clear and definitive, brief enough to be memorable, yet pointed enough to encompass the expanded mission of the contemporary community college."
In its summary letter to CCRI, The NEASC Commission established a timeline for this revision.
"Through the progress report in 2005, the Commission looks forward to learning of the College's success related to our standard on the Mission and Purposes."
Through the report in spring 2006, "...the Commission anticipates that the college will have developed a mission statement..."
In the Fall 2004, President Sepe established the Mission Initiative Committee to begin the process of reviewing and revising CCRI's vision for the future, it's mission and articulating its core values.
