Proposed Opening Day Agenda
The committee believes that Opening Day would provide an exceptional opportunity to elicit additional input from the College Community relating to our Mission, Vision and Values. While input has been elicited several times in a variety of formats, the committee wishes to ensure that everyone has a chance to provide input. In addition, the committee anticipates that the college community will want to address this important issue.
While still discussing the details the committee feels strongly that a change in venue and approach (engaging , fun, yet serious) be considered. We suggest a bold and very different approach to this meeting, to emphasize that we are undertaking a bold and perhaps "new" way of working together. We have discussed a variety of "themes" a futuristic (Mission Impossible, Star Trek) and a more traditional (historical) approach. The committee wishes to recruit additional individuals in planning the Agenda.
The Setting:
- Field House (Preferably Lincoln Campus)
- Lighting (Low with Laser lights - Futuristic Theme)

Introduce the Contest - The Contest will be designed to elicit input on how to:
- Promote statements (A mission statement should be memorable and repeatable by every employee in the organization as a mechanism for getting buy-in)
- Identify behaviors that should be recognized and rewarded (Core values guide policy and day-to-day behaviors and therefore provide the foundation for the organization’s culture )
The "prize" or "award" may be announced at Professional Development Day along with the recommended plan, idea, concept etc. Financial constraints aside, the committee believes that ideas from the college community be elicited for the "implementation" phase.
Turn the group over to Tom for his announcements, comments etc.
