Special Meeting -
This meeting was called by Dennis Moore as various committee members continued to edit the statement developed on 5/12/06. As the Co-Chairs were scheduled to present a final statement to the Accreditation Review Team later in the day, it was necessary to come to consensus on the final revision.
The following statement was submitted to the Accreditation Review Team at its meeting on May 18, 2006.
Community College of Rhode Island
The Community College of Rhode Island is the state's only public comprehensive associate degree-granting institution. We provide affordable, open access to higher education at locations throughout the state. Our primary mission is to offer students the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for intellectual, professional, and personal growth through an array of academic, career and lifelong learning programs. We meet the wide-ranging educational needs of our diverse student population, building on our rich tradition of excellence in teaching and our dedication to student success. We set high academic standards, champion diversity, respond to community needs, and contribute to our state's economic development and the region's workforce.
