Committee members present reviewed and revised the statement developed on April 13, 2006. The following statement was generated at this meeting.
The Community College of Rhode Island is the state’s only comprehensive public associate degree granting institution and is often the initial point of entry to higher education for many Rhode Islanders. Responding to the varied educational needs of a diverse community of learners, CCRI offers a comprehensive array of career, transfer, and lifelong learning programs at four campuses throughout the state. Building on its tradition of teaching excellence and student support, the College is committed to student success. We encourage academic excellence, foster service learning, promote diversity, respond to community needs, contribute to the state’s economic development and build the region’s workforce.
