In the fall of 2004, President Sepe appointed a committee of fourteen faculty and staff to begin reviewing and revising CCRI's mission statement. Students were added to the committee in January 2005.

Co-Chairs (Dennis Moore and JoAnn Warren) met with President Sepe in January to clarify the committee's role and purpose.

The committee met for the first time on Friday, January 28, 2005 to establish a strategy for accomplishing its objective. Both President Sepe and Vice-President Sherman met with the committee to present its charge.

On April 13, 2006, Interim President DiPasquale reconvened the Mission Initiative Committee to redraft CCRI's mission statement. Two new members were appointed to the committee.

The committee has kept notes on each meeting.
