Security Awareness Day
“Building a Culture of Security Awareness”
More than 300 people registered for CCRI’s “Building a Culture of Security Awareness,” a free, one-day program in recognition of October as National Cyber Security Awareness Month on Oct. 30 at the Knight Campus in Warwick. The morning program featured a presentation on social media and open source targeting by Scott G. Brown, an FBI intelligence analyst assigned to the Boston Division, and “Where do you draw the creepy line? Privacy, big data analytics and the Internet of things” by Rebecca Herold, who has been providing information privacy, security and compliance services, tools and products to organizations in a extensive range of industries for more than two decades. A third morning presentation by Henry Marquez of ePlus Security was “The unknown threat: Who's inside your organization?” Afternoon speakers include leaders from the international SANS Institute, Atrion Corp., the URI Digital Forensics Center, Fitchburg State and Brown University.
