Warwick Art Gallery welcomes local artist Jane Masters

The Knight Campus Art Gallery will present “Don’t Try This At Home,” a solo show by Providence-based artist Jane Masters, from Tuesday, Oct. 19, through Nov. 26. An opening reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19, with an artist talk at 5 p.m.
Masters’ art showcases words, geometry and repetitive patterns using a variety of techniques to achieve detailed compositions. Her work displays meticulously intricate patterns as well as a refined attention to detail.
Masters is originally from Europe and grew up in Barbados, West Indies.
In her current studio in Pawtucket, she makes drawings, prints, art wallpapers
and architectural installations. She has a bachelor of arts degree in Art
History, a bachelor of fine arts degree and a master of fine arts degree in the
studio arts (sculpture, ceramics).
Her work is included in the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Fabric Workshop and Museum, the RISD Museum, the Tang Museum, The Albert Einstein College of Medicine and several corporate collections. Her large commissioned permanent installations can be seen on the 12th floor of The Chambers Hotel in New York City and in the central atrium space of Fidelity Investments’ regional headquarters, in Smithfield, R.I. She occasionally teaches part-time at both RISD and Brown University.
The Knight Campus Art Gallery is located in Room 3500 on the third floor of the round building at the Warwick campus, 400 East Ave. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
