Program Description
You are on the front line of holding together today’s health care systems. Although there are many factors that complicate issues in these systems, there are factors that are controllable in this often chaotic environment.
The science of sports performance enhancement has provided competitive athletes the edge since the turn of the century. Learn how these very same strategies can work for you — performance is performance!
This training will isolate two essential ingredients of peak performance: resiliency in high-stress environments and reliable leadership practices.
What You Will Learn
- To become stronger from stress by building the capacity to sustain high performance, even during times of elevated demand
- To identify negative habits that block resiliency
- To recognize that optimal performance is skillful management of energy
- How to recover physically, mentally and emotionally for improved quality of life
- To learn and apply the basics of Emotional Intelligence (Leadership starts with EQ!)
- To understand the facts vs. myths of leadership
- To learn the bottom line “do’s” of leadership that gets results
Your Instructor
John P. Sullivan, Psy.D, is a performance psychologist/clinical sport psychologist. He specializes in helping those in business, medicine, higher education, performing arts and athletics achieve excellence in high-stress environments.
He is the coordinator of sport psychology outreach services for the
NCAA Division 1 student-athletes at the University of Rhode Island.
He has provided services in the area of sport and other venues since
1993.
Dr. Sullivan has worked with hundreds of world-class performers both in the sport and occupational arenas emphasizing evidence-based interventions as well as strength-based models of performance, resiliency and overall well-being.
Dr. Sullivan has also worked as a mental health professional for 15 years and provided professional services to a variety of populations in a variety of settings.
