The World is Flat
by Thomas L. Friedman
Friedman, a columnist for The New York Times, is, in my opinion, one
of the most gifted writers and thought leaders in America today.
He continues to explore globalization, technology and change and its
impact on Americans today. His ideas impact all of us.
He also wrote
From Beirut to Jerusalem and
The Lexus and the Olive Tree. |

Riptide
by Frances Ward Weller; illustrated by Robert J. Blake
This children's book gave me countless hours of reading enjoyment
with my two sons as they were learning how to read. Probably
my favorite book based on the images it conjures in my mind of
reading with my boys. The story of Riptide Windjammer, an
amazing dog who roamed a beach on the Cape helping lifeguards rescue
people.
