CCRI implemented several years ago a Print Management Initiative to raise awareness of the true cost of printing campus-wide and to move the CCRI community toward a best practices approach for printing in general. Setting printer standards and configuring drivers by default to print in black & white and on both sides of the paper (duplex) have been demonstrated to have an immediate and direct impact on the cost of printing through reduced energy consumption, consumables, and overall printing costs per-page.
Currently CCRI has 66 Ricoh multi-function devices (MFDs) deployed campus-wide. These MFDs provide the CCRI community flexibility with access to a wider range of facilities to assist in achieving our primary copying and printing needs and objectives. Other benefits include up-to-date print/copy/scan hardware for all, cost savings through reduced energy consumption, consumables, and overall printing costs per-page.
In an effort to control our energy consumption and contribute to the College’s efforts to reduce waste CCRI has launched the Green Printing Initiative, a means of providing a more efficient way of managing printing at the College.
