Wireless Network Access is Coming to CCRI
The Department of Information Technology is pleased to announce our plan for deployment of wireless network access on all four CCRI campuses. Our wireless project is supported by funding from the CCRI Foundation and Governor Carcieri’s math and science initiatives.
Starting in the Fall 2007 semester, wireless network access will be available in key areas of the Newport and Warwick campuses. This service will allow members of the college community to access CCRI services, like Pipeline, as well as resources on the internet from portable computers with wireless network cards. Initial coverage areas will include public spaces like the atrium and great hall, classrooms, the libraries, shared meeting rooms and key office areas. Wireless access for the Providence and Lincoln campuses is planned for the Fall 2008 semester.
Additional information about wireless access will be provided on the Information Technology web page under Wireless Computing Initiative.
