About MS Internet Explorer 7
Microsoft recently released Windows Internet Explorer 7, the first major update of their browser since 2001. The new version has some nice new features, such as tabbed browsing, enhanced favorites, page zoom, and extensive security enhancements, including phishing protection. But its "redesigned, streamlined interface" may take a while to get used to.
The Internet Explorer's updated security makes it an essential component for computer safety and IT staff are now in the process of deploying it across campus. Although it might take a while before all College owned PC's are upgraded, IT plans to upgrade the PC's in the academic computer labs and IT maintained classrooms to IE 7 for the Fall 2007. Orientation sessions will be offered throughout the summer on the new features of Internet Explorer 7.
