Required Hardware & Software and Login Process
To connect, all mobile devices must have a wireless network interface card to connect to the campus wireless network. Network cards must be 802.11a, 802.11b, or 802.11g.
All devices will be scanned for anti-virus and anti-spyware protection during the login process along with operating system service packs and updates. Therefore, all mobile devices must have antivirus, anti-spyware programs installed as well as all required service packs and updates to gain access to the wireless network.
All users will authenticate to the network. Authentication is the process of verifying that the mobile device has all required software and the user is a CCRI faculty, staff or student. Users will be prompted to login with their Pipeline username and password.
Devices that fail to meet these minimum requirements will be automatically switched to a quarantine network and provided with information as to why the device failed and opportunities to remediate the problem online or to contact the CCRI Help Desk at (401) 825-1112.
