E-mail Scams

The CCRI Help Desk continues to receive inquiries about emails involving confidence schemes (scams) intended to deceive the recipients.

Please be cautious of any emails guaranteeing the potential to make money. Any email that requests personal information such as bank account numbers, passwords, credit card numbers, etc. should be disregarded. If you are concerned about the validity of an email, please contact the CCRI Help Desk at x1112. Please do not forward these messages to others.

One of the most frequently seen email scam is the Nigerian Scam. This email urges you to facilitate in transferring money from a foreign country.
