Handbook for Staff and Student Assistant Positions

Overall Structure of The Department

Our objective is to create and sustain a team culture which values service to the students, faculty and staff. A positive work attitude and productivity, expertise and quality workmanship is most important.

The Department of IT is made up of seven primary units:

  • Classroom Technology & Media Services
  • Center for Instruction & Technology
  • Management Information systems
  • Network and Telecommunications
  • Operations Administration
  • User Support
  • Web Services

The User Support unit provides technology support for all CCRI faculty, students and staff and it is made up of four teams:

  • Help Desk
  • Desktop Support
  • Lab Support

(For more information about the department and other units please refer to the IT web site.)

Regardless of the area you’ve been hired for, all IT employees work as a team and are responsible for supporting faculty, staff and student efforts in using technology. From time to time you might be asked to help teams beside the primary area you have been hired for therefore it is important you familiarize yourself with procedures especially for the areas listed below.
