Lab/Classroom Software Request

This form is for requesting software to be made available in public labs and various other technology resources for your classes. If you have significant technology needs for a course, please fill out a separate form for that course. If this is not the case, you may list all your courses and technology resource requests on one form. Please submit your form by April 25 for the summer sessions, July 18 for the Fall semester and by December 5 for the Spring semester classes. If you have any questions, please call the IT Service Desk at 825-1112 or e-mail itsd@ccri.edu to schedule an appointment for assistance.

General Purpose Software

Information Technology provides general-purpose software that will be included on all electronic classroom and lab computers, which can be used in your courses. If you are only using this software with your classes, you do not have to let us know. Primarily we just need to know about software that is not normally included. Our general purpose software includes:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Internet Explorer and Firefox with the following plug-ins: Acrobat Reader, Java, Flash, Shockwave, Silverlight and Quicktime (which will accommodate both Blackboard and MyCCRI Course Tools)
Special Purpose (Course-Specific) Software

Any special purpose (course-specific) software and licensing has to be purchased by your department. When you request special purpose software to be made available in public labs, Information Technology department will need the licensing agreement to ensure that the planned use complies with legal regulations.

Faculty who plan to purchase new software or upgrades for existing software must contact the IT Service Desk either via phone: 825-1112 or e-mail itsd@ccri.edu to discuss their plans. Information Technology staff will need to test any special software in advance to ensure that it works properly in our computing environment before the start of each semester. This includes CDs/DVDs that accompany text books that may be used in the labs.

Because of the time needed for testing and license review, faculty who need special purpose software are urged to contact the IT Service Desk, x1112, and fax the licensing information by April 24 for the Summer semester, July 18 for the Fall semester, and by December 1 for the Spring semester.

Please list ALL special purpose software you plan to use in your courses including those you have used in the past that you would like to continue using. Remember to note the version of the software.

Listed below are links to the master list of applications currently available:

Please note that if you do not renew your request(s), all software loaded for your classes during the previous semesters will be removed to make room for other faculty requests.
