iPad Email & Calendar

Preview more of your emails
  • Tap Settings app
  • Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  • Change the Preview options to add more lines (default two previewing lines)
What file types are supported as email attachments?

Turn off iPad email alert chimes
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap General
  • Tap Sounds and turn off the New Mail sound. (or adjust sound levels)
Turn off iPad push mail

This automatically 'pushes' any new emails your way as soon as they are available.

  • Tap Settings app
  • Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  • Choose Fetch New Data
  • Turn Push on or off
How to remove the “Sent from my iPad” signature from outgoing email on your iPad
  • Select Settings from your home screen
  • Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars from the list on the left side of the Settings window
  • Tap the Signature (default will be “Sent from my iPad”)
  • Use the delete button on your iPad keyboard to remove the signature (or use the Clear button). Enter in personal signature, or leave the window blank to not use one at all
  • Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars in the left column again.
  • In the Signature section you’ll see your new, custom signature or none
Add a Google Calendar
  • Tap Settings
  • Open Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  • Add an account
  • Tap on Other
  • Tap on Add CalDAV Account
  • Enter your Google Account credentials (Server = www.google.com)
  • Exit the Settings app
  • Tap on the Calendar app and all your events should appear. All calendars are displayed (by default)
  • Tap on the Calendars button to choose which ones are shown
Change days in the calendar
  • Navigation bar along the bottom of the screen can be used to switch to different days (or weeks/months, depending on the view)
  • The current day is shown in blue, or tap the Today button to return to the current day
