Importing quizzes from WebCT into Bb
Step 1Open Respondus and select "WebCT CE 3.x-4.x" from the "Current Personality" drop down menu.

Step 2Select the "Retrieval and Reports" tab. |
Step 3Select the "Retrieve Questions" tab on the left hand side of the screen.

Step 4NOTE: If this is the first time you are importing a file from WebCT to Blackboard using Respondus, you will have to create the WebCT server and fill out the server settings. ***** If you have already done this, skip to step 7. Select "add new server" from the WebCT Server drop down list.

Step 5An "Add New Server Settings" dialog box will pop up. Select "No, I want to enter the server settings manually". Then click "Next".

NOTE: Now your WebCT server settings have been set up, you will not need to go through these settings again. |
Step 7Select "My WebCT Server" from the drop down list.

Step 8An "Edit Existing Server Settings" dialog box will pop up, select "Use current settings for My WebCT Server" and then click "Next".

Step 9You will now choose the course that you want to take the test from, from the "course drop-down list".

Step 10Select either "Quiz or Survey" or "Category" and then select the quiz/survey/category from either drop down-list.

Step 11You will now enter a "name" for the the new file and then click "Retrieve". Click "OK" on the "File Saved" pop-up window. In the Status window it will say "Successfully Completed" when the quiz is retrieved.

Step 12Click the "Start" button at the top of the page. Then select "Blackboard 6.3-9.x" from the "Current Personality" drop-down list.

Step 13A pop up box will open up, click "OK".

Step 14Another pop-up dialog box will show up. Here, you will want to "Save as new file" by typing in a "name" and click the "Save as New File" button.

Step 15Now the test is open in the "Edit" mode within Respondus. If you need to make any changes to the test, you can do so here.

Step 16Select the "Settings" tab at the top of the page:

Step 17Click the "Preview and Publish" tab.

NOTE: If you selected "Exam" in 2. above, you will be prompted to select the content area in the Bb course you want to place the exam. Once you have selected the content area, click "Next" If you select "Pools" it will automatically be put in the "Pools" area within your Bb 9 course.

Step 20Click "Finish". Your test will now be in your Blackboard course. |
