Faculty Mentor Schedules
Faculty mentors are available to meet with faculty for individualized tutorials in instructional technology. Please contact this year's mentors to schedule an appointment.
Kathy Beauchene came to CCRI in 1979 to direct the Knight Campus Writing Center. In 1986 she became a full-time faculty member in the English Department, where she teaches oral communication and writing classes. She began her foray into online teaching in 2000 when she taught the Composition I telecourse through WebCT (now Blackboard). Since then she has enhanced her on-campus classes with Blackboard tools, such as quizzes, the discussion board, and content modules.
Currently, she teaches a fully online composition course. In addition to her Blackboard experience, she is familiar with My CCRI's features, Microsoft Office products, and Word Press. She developed and maintains the Communication site.
As an advocate of technology in the classroom, she has presented at CCRI Professional Day workshops as well as at local and regional conferences. Also, Kathy has received a video conference and two WebCT fellowships that have allowed her to explore the full capabilities of these two technologies.
She is excited about being a faculty IT mentor and invites you to contact her with your technology concerns—classroom related or otherwise.
Tony Basilico started teaching in the Business Department at the college in 1978. In 1984 he elected to transfer to the newly formed Computer Studies Department. Tony has been involved with computers for over 30 years. Presently, he teaches multiple computing classes including programming, networking as well as Introduction to Computers.
Tony more than welcomes the opportunity to help you with any other computer problems or issue including Blackboard, Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), especially Excel, and MyCCRI.
